Programs and Services
Since 1955, United Cerebral Palsy-Center for Disability Services (UCP-CDS)has provided direct services to people with developmental disabilities in Illinois. The Agency has evolved from one program to a multi-service organization serving children and adults with developmental disabilities. The staff works together to provide an array of resources for the individual client, student, and child, as well as their family.
As a member of the United Cerebral Palsy Association (UCPA), UCP-CDS stays current on available services, breakthroughs in technology, and pertinent legislation.
Involvement of parents and community members on the UCP-CDS Board of Directors and several advisory councils ensures accountability to each individual. UCP-CDS’s focal point is the coming together of a diverse group of people joined in a common bond, searching for growth, fulfillment, self-realization, and dignity.
We are in the third year of our fourth, three year accreditation awarded by CARF (The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). We continue to meet and exceed internationally recognized standards of quality in the provisions of outcome-driven programs and services to enhance the lives of the children and adults we serve.
UCP-CDS is continuously changing and expanding to meet the needs of the individuals we serve and the communities in which they live. We remain committed to do whatever is necessary to meet those needs and to maintain the highest quality programs and services. As our mission states, we continue to seek to improve the quality of life for persons with developmental disabilities.
