Director of Finance

Work Hours:

  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:30am – 4:30pm

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management
  • Demonstrated experience in budgetary and financial development
  • Demonstrated supervisory experienc

REPORTS TO:

  • Executive Director

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of state and federal funding sources
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations pertaining to not-for-profit organizations
  • Comprehensive understanding of funding agencies, budgets and reporting forms
  • Overall understanding of not-for-profit accounting systems
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, complete and delegate assignments
  • Excellent communication and writing skills; meets deadlines

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and supervise all agency accounting and financial activities
  • Supervise preparation of all financial reports and inform the Executive Director and the Board of Directors of the ongoing financial status of the agency
  • Responsible for timely development, management and analyses of all matters related to accounting and management of financial reporting, budget and appropriations
  • Coordinate daily and monthly business transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Manage all accounting and financial matters pertaining to Agency contacts in accordance with State Laws, regulations and administrative code procedures
  • Coordinates preparation of all materials for annual auditing process in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and supervise all monthly reimbursement and billing requests
  • Acts as liaison to state, federal and local funding sources as appropriate
  • Assists Development Department with grant writing to private funding sources
  • Coordinates and supervise all personnel record-keeping in accordance with Agency policy as well as state and federal requirements
  • Coordinate annual benefits package for Agency personnel
  • Coordinates Agency safety program
  • Supervise all aspects of personnel processing
  • Serve as staff liaison or member of Agency and board committees as assigned by the Executive Director
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
