My daughter, Megan, started as a student in the three-year-old program. I wanted to be involved and help where I could. We were very happy with the teachers and aides that worked with Megan. She was our baby and it was very difficult for us to leave her. Everyone was wonderful and showed much love for Megan and all the students. My husband and I were very comfortable having Megan at UCP-CDS. I wanted to be part of this great organization.

Dave Rumsey – member since 2000

My wife is a special education teacher and I have a soft spot for those with special needs. I saw firsthand the Melvin J. Larson School during a United Way visit and was greatly moved. I am happy to help this incredible organization during my retirement.

I am blessed to be the sister of Laura, who has special needs. I joined UCP-CDS because they work hard every day to help children and adults, like Laura, achieve their potential and live fulfilling lives - and I want to help. There is no greater joy than the privilege of making a connection with someone with special needs.
